Ants for a Queen

i know a poor man

who lives in a mud castle

a grass thatch for a roof

and a thorny bush for a door

but lives a good life

happy are his visitors

for he gives a world-class reception

he serves a plate of peace

iced with a portion of love

and a glass of happiness for a drink

that made me his regular visitor

how rich is his heart!

he works as a gardener

like an ant he burrows land

and plants beautiful gardens

around the palace of a pompous queen

whose life is full of fear

for happiness is a rare commodity

as rare as a hen’s tooth

and love is a fingerite

in her beautiful house of doom

how poor is her heart!
